When you book with us, the following terms & conditions apply:
The accommodation at The Wave Resort is self-contained and unserviced. Initial provisions supplied include soaps; laundry, kitchen and bathroom, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and toilet paper. These are not replenished during the stay.
2. How to Book / Quotes and Reservations
Bookings can be made over the internet via this website or by calling our resort on 07 5555 9200 (Australian callers) or +61 7 5555 9200 (International callers). Reservations are subject to availability and actual pricing at the time of booking. Rates may change at any time. Verbal quotes are valid for 24 hours only. Any verbal quote given is only an estimate of the price, which will be subject to written advice on confirmation of the reservation. All quotes are given in AUD.
3. Payment Options
We accept the following credit cards only: Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard and AMEX. All payments must be made in AUD.
For all group bookings, all amendments, and rooming lists must be received by The Wave, in writing, at least 7 days prior to arrival. If you have checked in and choose to vacate an apartment before the confirmed departure dates, no refund will be given.
For booking cancellations please refer to our cancellation policy. All cancellations must be received by email or via our website.
6. Check-in and Check-out
Standard check-in is 2pm and standard check out is 10am. For guaranteed check in prior to 2pm, a unit must be reserved from the previous night and therefore includes an additional nightly charge.
For arrival outside our resort standard reception closing time of 5pm, please advise arrival details at time of booking. All late check-outs are subject to availability and must be requested the morning of check-out, prior to 10am. Late check-out up to 11am is at the discretion of the resort manager. Late check-out after 11am will result in the following additional charges being applied to your account:
- 11am – 2pm: $20.00 per hour
- After 2pm: the full daily rate applies
7. Security Requirements upon Check-in
All guests are required to provide a credit card pre-authorisation of $200.00 on arrival to cover any miscellaneous charges. Sub Penthouses will require a $500.00 pre-authorisation. Where a credit card is not available a cash deposit is required equal to the pre-authorisation. A current drivers licence or passport will be required at check in. This ID may be copied or stored as a record that we have verified who you are to prevent credit card fraud. Any personal information contained on the collected ID will be securely stored and carefully disposed of at the end of its usefulness.
Credit Card Pre-Authorisation
The credit card pre-authorisation on arrival will be used to cover incidental items such as (but not limited to):
- Telephone or internet charges
- Any breakages or damage incurred during your stay
- Any excessive cleaning charges above the normal level of cleaning, due to the apartment being left in an unacceptable state
Please note this process validates the presented card and protects both the card holder and merchant from fraud. The pre-authorised amount is set aside by the credit card company for a period of up to 10 days which will affect your available funds.
Once a pre-authorisation has been made, we can not release, remove or lower the authorised amount. This is a restriction placed on us by the bank and cannot be negotiated.

8. Booking Arrangements
The person making a booking shall be deemed to have accepted the booking conditions on behalf of all persons named in the booking.
9. Under 18’s
All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or an individual over the age of 18. The property has the right to refuse any booking when the legal guardian cannot provide current photo I.D. when requested at check-in.
10. School Leavers
We reserve the right to reject bookings from School Leavers and/or University Leavers from mid/late November – Early December as we do not have policies, procedures or resources to meet the unique needs of those attending the annual “Schoolies” event. If on check in, persons travelling are found to be participating in “Schoolies” they will NOT be checked in and no refunds will be given.
11. No Party Policy
The Wave Resort has a strict “No Party Policy”, and we would not recommend any guests booking a Three Bedroom Apartment or Sub Penthouse Apartment for a hens, bucks, birthday party or any other private event as you risk being fined and evicted.
12. Request Policy
Although every effort will be made to satisfy any specific requests, we cannot guarantee them. Should you consider the apartment you have booked not suitable, upgrades or relocations can be requested – subject to availability and at an additional cost. Guests wishing to change rooms after check-in will incur a cleaning fee of the apartment has been used.
13. Child Policy
Children aged 0-2 years are free of charge using existing bedding (rollaway/sofa is not existing bedding). Cot hire is available at an additional charge. Must pre advise resort prior to arrival. Adult rate applies for children aged 3-14 years.
LOW SEASON: If booking is cancelled up to 7 days prior to arrival no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
MID SEASON: If booking is cancelled up to 14 days prior to arrival no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
HIGH SEASON: If booking is cancelled up to 28 days prior to arrival the deposit will be refunded less a $50 admin fee. If cancelled later or in case of a no-show the total price of the reservation will be charged.
- High Season: 21/12/23 – 13/01/24, 20/12/24 – 11/01/25
- Mid Season: 16/09/23 – 01/10/23, 14/01/24 – 20/01/24, 28/03/24 – 31/03/24, 16/05/24 – 19/05/24, 13/09/24 – 06/10/24, 12/01/25 – 26/01/25
- Low Season: All other dates
If your booking dates cross seasons, the most restrictive policy will apply to your booking.
